RDS Baku is delighted to announce that it has passed a major health and safety milestone, attaining 10 years Total Recordable Incident free for all its offshore and onshore work.
This world class achievement is a result of outstanding commitment to safety, excellent training and reviews, ensuring competencies are maintained and adherence to continually reviewed and updated procedures.
During this period, RDS has completed the design, installation and commissioning of hundreds of projects, successfully delivering these whilst developing a strong in-country team with a growing number of Azeri nationals, who have contributed greatly to the overall success and growth of the company in Baku. This in turn has contributed to the local economy and furthered the development of skills in the country.
Martin Meredew, Head of RDS said “The RDS Baku safety record of zero recordables since the engineering office was opened in 2005 is a remarkable achievement with more than two million man-hours being expended and a large proportion of these during offshore construction campaigns.
“This work has been executed using local labour and enormous credit must go to the construction team for their management of many potentially high risk work scopes. However, it is also important to recognise the role played by KCA Deutag and our clients in supporting and controlling the execution of the work. This close working relationship has been instrumental in delivering this exceptional safety performance.”
